10-Day Prayer Challenge

Bear Creek Community Church

When Kingdoms Collide: Prayer as Spiritual Warfare

The Challenge

For the next 10 days, we're asking every member of our church to commit to 10 minutes of focused, fervent prayer each day. Why? Because Acts 12 showed us that when the church prays, kingdoms collide and evil is defeated.

We're a church plant preparing to launch in September 2026. We need to grow from 20 to 60 people. We need breakthrough in health, families, and finances. We need God to move. And the early church taught us the weapon to use: prayer.

The Commitment:

  • 10 minutes of prayer each day

  • Read the daily Scripture passage

  • Pray through the 3 focus areas provided

  • Fight together for our church and our city

❑ Day 1: Pray for the Power of Corporate Prayer

Scripture: Acts 12:5

"So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was praying fervently to God for him."

Pray for:

Our church to develop a culture of corporate prayer - that prayer gatherings would become a priority, not an afterthought. Pray that we would see prayer as our primary weapon in spiritual warfare, not just a religious duty.

Unity in prayer across our launch team - that we would pray together with one voice, one heart, and one mission. Ask God to remove any division, discouragement, or distraction that would keep us from gathering to pray.

A spirit of fervent, persistent intercession - not casual or polite prayers, but desperate, war-room intercession like the early church. Pray that God would give us a holy dissatisfaction with prayerlessness.

❑ Day 2: Pray for Our Launch Team to Grow

Scripture: Acts 12:24

"But the word of God spread and multiplied."

Pray for:

Our Launch Parties on Feb 15, Mar 29 and Apr 26 – that we would have many people join us for the parties to learn more about who we are, where we’re headed and that the Lord would bring the right people to join our team.

God to bring 40 more people to our launch team by May 2026 - specific names and faces. Ask God to prepare hearts right now in Lavon and surrounding areas who are hungry for authentic community and the gospel.

Divine appointments and conversations - pray for natural opportunities to invite people to church, to share the gospel, and to build relationships. Ask God to open doors at gyms, coffee shops, schools, and workplaces.

Each current member to bring at least one new person - pray for boldness to invite friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members. Ask God to remove fear of rejection and give us confidence that we have something worth inviting people to.

❑ Day 3: Pray Against Spiritual Opposition

Scripture: Ephesians 6:12

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens."

Pray for:

Protection over our church leaders and families - the enemy attacks leadership first. Pray for spiritual covering over health, marriages, children, and finances. Ask God to expose and defeat any schemes of the enemy against our leaders.

Discernment to recognize spiritual warfare - pray that we would see beyond the circumstances and recognize when the enemy is at work. Ask God to give us wisdom to fight with spiritual weapons (prayer, Scripture, worship) instead of human strategies.

❑ Day 4: Pray for People to Find Life With Jesus

Scripture: John 10:10

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

Pray for:

Salvations in our community - pray by name for specific people who don't know Jesus. Ask God to draw them to Himself, to soften hard hearts, and to open blind eyes. Pray that they would encounter the living God through our church.

The gospel to be clearly preached and received - pray that every sermon, every conversation, every interaction at our church would point people to Jesus. Ask God to make the gospel irresistible and impossible to ignore.

Baptisms and public professions of faith - pray that we would see people go public with their faith through baptism. Ask God to give new believers courage to declare allegiance to Jesus and join the church family.

❑ Day 5: Pray for Breakthrough in Health and Families

Scripture: James 5:16

"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

Pray for:

Healing for those battling sickness and chronic conditions - pray by name for church members facing health crises. Ask God to heal bodies, give wisdom to doctors, and sustain faith during long waits. Pray for supernatural intervention where medicine has failed.

Restoration of struggling marriages and families - pray for unity where there is division, forgiveness where there is hurt, and love where there is coldness. Ask God to rebuild what the enemy has tried to destroy.

Protection and discipleship of our children - pray that every child in our church would grow up knowing and loving Jesus. Ask God to shield them from the enemy's attacks and to raise up a generation of bold disciples.

❑ Day 6: Pray for Financial Provision

Scripture: Philippians 4:19

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Pray for:

God to provide every financial need for our church plant - pray for provision for space, equipment, salaries, and ministry resources. Ask God to show up as Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and to supply what we cannot supply ourselves.

Generous hearts among our launch team - pray that we would be a church marked by sacrificial giving, not out of obligation but out of love for Jesus. Ask God to free people from the love of money and give them joy in generosity.

Breakthrough in personal finances for those struggling - pray for jobs, raises, debt cancellation, and unexpected provision. Ask God to meet practical needs so people can focus on the mission without financial stress.

❑ Day 7: Pray for Leaders to Be Raised Up

Scripture: Acts 11:24

"For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And large numbers of people were added to the Lord."

Pray for:

Future elders, pastors, and ministry leaders to emerge - pray that God would raise up people full of the Holy Spirit and faith to lead our church well. Ask Him to identify and call out those He has equipped for leadership.

Missional Community Leaders and discipleship multipliers - pray for men and women who will invest in others, lead Bible studies, and shepherd people in their homes. Ask God to multiply leaders who multiply disciples.

Servants willing to serve in unseen roles - pray for people to step up in kids ministry, greeting, setup/teardown, hospitality, and administration. Ask God to create a culture where everyone uses their gifts to build up the body.

❑ Day 8: Pray for Community Impact

Scripture: Matthew 5:14-16

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden... Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

Pray for:

Our church to become known for loving Lavon well - pray that we would be the most generous, most serving, most loving group of people in our city. Ask God to give us opportunities to meet practical needs and show the love of Jesus tangibly.

Partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local businesses - pray for favor with community leaders and open doors to serve. Ask God to connect us with people and organizations where we can make a gospel difference.

God to transform Lavon through our witness - pray that our city would be different because our church exists. Ask God to use us to bring light into darkness, hope into despair, and life into dead places.

❑ Day 9: Pray for Our September 13, 2026 Launch

Scripture: Psalm 127:1

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain."

Pray for:

God to build this church, not us - pray that every decision, every strategy, every plan would be submitted to God first. Ask Him to keep us dependent on Him and to shut down anything that isn't His will.

A powerful launch Sunday in September 2026 - pray for 400 people to show up on launch day, ready to be part of something God is building. Ask God to create momentum, excitement, and expectation leading up to launch.

Wisdom for every detail from venue to volunteers - pray for clarity on location, logistics, kids ministry, worship, setup, and every other detail. Ask God to provide what we need and to give us wisdom to steward it well.

❑ Day 10: Pray for Continued Faithfulness

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Pray for:

This to be just the beginning of a lifestyle of prayer - pray that these 10 days would ignite a fire in our church that never goes out. Ask God to make us a praying church for the long haul, not just for a season.

Personal commitment to keep fighting in prayer - pray for yourself - that you would continue to carve out time daily to pray fervently. Ask God to give you a burden for this church and this city that keeps you on your knees.

Our church to stay focused on the main thing - pray that we would never get distracted by secondary issues, cultural battles, or the enemy's schemes. Ask God to keep us laser-focused on helping people find life in Jesus through the gospel.

When the church prays, kingdoms collide and evil is defeated.

Let's pray. Let's fight. Let's watch God move.
